Tropoja e Vjeter commune is located in the north-east of the country, and is an

administrative part of Tropoja District and Kukes County. It has an area of 2661 km2 or

25 % of the whole area of Tropoja district being so the largest commune.

Tropoja is nearly 230 km away from Tirana, the capital of Albania, 120 km away from

Prishtina, the capital of Kosovo and some 30 km away from Gjakova, with which it is

North - East side with Gjakova and Juniku communes of Kosovo

North – Western side for a short distance with the state boundaries of Montenegro

South - East side with Bytyçi commune

South West side with Llugaj commune

West side with Margegaj commune.
