PSAL, CHSAA baseball rosters released for second annual Mayor's Cup all-star game

2:11 AM, June 16, 2011 ι By ZACH BRAZILLER

Myself and colleague Dylan Butler spend much of the spring debating what league is better, the PSAL or the CHSAA. Being the PSAL guy, I always go with the public schools and he takes the side of the Catholic league.

Our debate ends Friday night with the second annual NYC Mayor’s Cup All-Star game, pitting the two leagues’ best seniors against one another at MCU Park in Coney Island at 7 p.m.

The rosters were released today and they are loaded. They include Grand Street Campus outfielder Williams Jerez, who was recently drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the second round of the MLB draft, Tottenville slugger Kevin Krause, Xaverian’s Pittsburgh-bound catcher Elvin Soto, Navy recruit Chris Cannon of St. Francis Prep and so many more of the area’s biggest names.
