E3 Fantasies

by IW-Miguel
The E3 wishlist is a workhorse of games coverage. Journos will enumerate the games they're most excited to see, and muse on possible earth-shattering announcements. You must often get the feeling that they know ahead of time that some of their prognostications will indeed come to pass. I know I certainly feel that way sometimes when I read what my colleagues write, and I'm looking from the inside. This year, I'm hoping to flip the script a little bit. Below are three things I would love to see happen at this year's E3, but that I am nonetheless certain have a snowball's chance in hell of actually going down. So, if you'll permit me to dream, I'll invite you to come along for the ride.

Journey into Journey

by IW-Ryan
I had the privilege of being able to check out and play ThatGameCompany's mysterious Journey a little while back. The sandy dunes and tiptoed protagonists have flitted around a little bit, but the game has mainly remained a cipher. Even in the interview I conducted with TGC's Jenova Chen, I found hesitation in explanations of the banal: he squirmed when I asked if he could explain how the length of the scarf is tied to the game. And there's a reason for the queasy ambition in his promotion: this is a game about secrets. Read on if you dare, because when it comes to Journey, playing is half the fun.

Car Licensing De-Mystified

by IW-Bloodworth
Coming from the opinion of the person who reviews most of the racing games here at GT, licensed car selections are an important part of evaluating a game's features. Over time, I've seen patterns and heard various myths about why some cars don't appear in a particular series or why a game avoids showing damage altogether. So several weeks back, I set out to get some answers from the industry's biggest players, eventually getting responses from the teams behind Gran Turismo and Dirt 3.

GTA IV – How Long Art Thou?

by IW-Brooks
Alright, time for a confession. I've been meaning to get this off my chest for quite some time. Hopefully I'm not alone when I say this, but I never finished Grand Theft Auto IV -- at least, not in terms of completing the story. Time and time again I'm drawn into Rockstar's amazingly immersive worlds, only to depart just as quickly as I've arrived.

Top Five E3 Topics

by ResetDK
WOW! I can't believe that E3 2011 is here! Over the years I've found that no matter how much planning and preparation you put into the industry's biggest event, there comes a point when you realize that E3 isn't GOING TO BE happening, but that it simply IS happening. With a slew of big announcements preceding this year's show and what will be, quite honestly, GameTrailers' most EPIC coverage of the event yet, I already feel knee deep in the festivities! It's definitely a time to learn exciting new things, but also to answer a few questions lingering on every gamer's mind. To kick it all off this year, I'm breaking down five of my top topics at E3 2011.
