X Factor winner Matt Cardle has claimed that Biffy Clyro approved of his cover of 'Many Of Horror'.
The former painter and decorator released the Scottish rockers' track - retitled 'When We Collide' - as his winner's single following his victory in the ITV contest last December.
Cardle's cover became the 2010 UK Christmas number one and went on to sell over 815,000 copies, but the 28-year-old confessed to The Sun that he was most concerned about the reaction of the band themselves.
Recalling his first encounter with the group at a recent London bash, Cardle said: "I was a bit worried about meeting them because I had no idea what they thought of my song. I'm a huge fan of theirs so I apologised to them in case they hated it.
"But we had a really nice chat. As it turns out, I think they quite liked my cover. They didn't have a problem with it at all."
Biffy Clyro previously claimed that the song's use as an X Factor single seemed "like a joke".
