Inna: 'Hot'

It's been a long time coming for Inna. Hailed as Romania's most successful music export (what about Loredana Groza?) with numerous chart hits around Europe, as well as clocking over 50 million YouTube views, she remains in the UK one of those artists that you'll only know when-you-hear-the-song - which is a shame, given her exceptional beauty. Nonetheless, following last summer's club smashes 'Amazing' and the LP's title track and current hit 'Sun Is Up', the 24-year-old is at last ready to give the UK Hot.
Delayed after three years of deluxe, re-worked and Euro-only editions released across the globe, the disc does exactly what you would expect from the scantily clad Inna draped on the back cover over a yacht sailing the Med. Littered with pumping Euro-beats and dainty synth chord progressions, there's no denying that the sound emanates summer warmth and memories of partying down the [insert Greek island here] strip, but little else is achieved. With the singles already a staple of Balearic Island nightclubs, the set lacks much in the way of further standouts - the latter numbers 'Fever' and 'Ladies' feel by-the-numbers and monotonous and, by closing number 'Left Right', will most likely have you throwing your boombox overboard. Inoffensive if not a little uninspiring, Hot is a worthy soundtrack for this year's 18-30 clubbers, but even they might struggle to see this one out to the bitter end.
