Downloading documents
Most of the files made available on the site will be either Microsoft Office or Adobe PDF files. Free software is available to view all these.
It is our policy to give you an indication of the file size for downloadable items so that you can judge whether or not it will take a long time to download on your particular connection.
Searching
The site search (search.sheffield.gov.uk) is powered by Google. The Google Support website provides basic searching tips
Resizing text
If the text is too small for you to comfortably read then you can resize it using the options in the top right hand corner of each page:
Problems Emailing Us
Please note that if you click on an email address in one of our web pages and you have a PC that uses a Microsoft based operating system, it will automatically try to open a Microsoft email application.
If you haven't got this installed your PC will display error messages and ask you technical questions.
Ignore these and either retype or copy and paste the email address into the system you usually use for your emails.
