Emile, 6’2”, is a vastly experienced striker who is well on the way to a career total of 500 League appearances. He started with hometown club Leicester City, making a Premier League debut against Queens Park Rangers when he was 17 and becoming a first-team regular in 1995-96.

He won the League Cup twice under Martin O’Neill before Liverpool signed him in 2000 for a fee that was a record for the Anfield club.

In his first complete season on Merseyside he featured in 36 Premier League games and won The FA Cup, League Cup and UEFA Cup. He went on to make further moves to Birmingham City, Wigan Athletic and Aston Villa.

Emile was capped 16 times for England’s Under-21s, scoring six goals, and was handed his senior debut by Kevin Keegan as a substitute for Kevin Phillips in a friendly against Hungary in Budapest on 28 April 1999.

He played in the European Championships of 2000 and 2004 and was an ever-present in the 2002 World Cup, scoring against Denmark in the Second Round.

After a three-year break Steve McClaren brought him back into the England fold and he won his 50th cap against Belarus in Minsk in October 2008.
