A doctor has discovered around 30 ants in the ears of a 16-year-old girl from Taiwan.

According to The Mirror, the unnamed girl had complained of itchy ears when a member of her family noticed an ant crawling out of one of them.

After being urged to go to hospital, a doctor examined her and located six ants in her left ear and more than 20 in her right ear.

The ants were dead when they were found, after the girl had applied ear drops to try and ease her discomfort.

It is believed that the ants were attracted to her ears because she admits to often eating and snacking while lying in bed.

Despite the shock of the incident, the girl was completely unharmed by the presence of the insects.
