You don't have to wait until launch to create or join a guild in Star Wars™: The Old Republic™. With our three-phased Pre-Launch Guild Program, you have the opportunity to find a group now that suits your play style, or if you prefer to start your own guild, you can reserve your preferred guild name and begin recruiting members to join your cause. When the game launches, you will have the opportunity to transfer your guild directly into the game. All guilds that meet certain criteria will be imported into the game.* To learn what a guild is and why you should join, visit the Guilds Game Systems page.

Phase 1:Formation
Guild Formation
During this phase, you'll be able to create guilds or apply to join those other fellow players have created. Each guild will have a mini-site with a set of public and private forums.
-
Phase 2:Alignment
Guild Alignment
In Phase 2, guild leaders will have the opportunity to select other guilds that they expect to play with--these are either allied guilds from the same faction, or adversarial guilds from the opposite faction.*
-
Phase 3:Deployment
Guild Deployment
During the final phase, all guilds that meet certain criteria will be assigned to specific servers in the game and guild rosters will be prepared so that players can join when they log in.*
Forming a guild allows you to attract players with similar in-game goals. Whether you're a group of real-life friends or just people with shared interests, creating a guild gives you access to organizational tools and features in the game. Many guilds already exist that might suit you, but creating a guild puts you in charge of a group's destiny.
