Scott Loach

Scott Loach

Scott, a 6’1” goalkeeper, had loan spells with League Two clubs Morecambe and Bradford City, making two and 20 League appearances respectively, before breaking into Watford’s first team in 2008-09. In that first season he featured in 31 League games for the Hornets and made enough of an impression to be included in the England Under-21 squad.

He substituted for Tom Heaton in the Malaga friendly with Ecuador on 10 February 2009 for his debut, a game England lost 3-2, and made further substitute appearances in the friendlies with Norway and Azerbaijan before flying to Sweden for the European Under-21 Finals. There he started the Group B fixture with Germany and the Final against the same opposition after Joe Hart was suspended.
