Mt Gravatt Market review

Exotic, cheap and fresh produce
Woman at market

Every Sunday morning you can make your way to the Mt Gravatt Showgrounds to shop at a small relaxed market, full of fresh produce.

I found it had a fantastic selection of fresh fruit and vegetables. There were varieties I’d never seen before and you can find everything from staple fruit and vegetables through to more exotic varieties.

There were lots of families shopping for the week and a crowd of different nationalities. The market has a great multicultural feel and although it’s quite small it is split into two sections. The undercover section sells fresh produce and the outdoor section has bric a brac and second hand goods.

The prices were very reasonable and much lower than at supermarkets. I enjoyed the relaxed and local community atmosphere and being at a market that wasn’t too crowded.

Buskers add to the atmosphere and you can buy coffee, greek pastries, pancakes and other snacks. But for me, this market is all about an amazing variety of cheap and interesting fresh produce. You never know what exotic food you might find.

When: Every Sunday 6am to midday

Where: Upper Mt Gravatt Showgrounds (near the corner of Logan Rd and Broadwater Rd) 1646 Logan Road, Mt Gravatt.

Parking: There is on-site parking in the showgrounds, as well as street parking nearby.

Public transport: Catch a bus that stops along Logan or Broadwater Road.

Dismal from Brisbane says:

Okay for fruit and veg. Cheap and plenty of stock. Stay away though if it's bric-a-brac you're after. It's complete chaos: too many low grade items hardly fit for the dump, no ATM access, dodgy tendor and during summer the non shaded stalls makes the dust and heat entirely unbearable. Definately Recommend buying elsewhere.

Okay for fruits and veges.. Very unprofessinal low grade eyebrow threading lady. How could market operators allow it, sure she would not have beauty licence. i will recommend professial beauty salons which does heaps better job and licenced.

DON'T BOTHER!!

These markets are the most dirty and disorganised in Brisbane. The lady at the gate is rude and continued to dismisses patrons, and a gold coin donation is fine but lets see it go to a charity!! The guard \ wanabe cop who wont let you leave with out a stamp is a load of you know what!!

No ATM
No healthy food stalls
Rude market holders who argue with people wanting to bargin

I will not return, i recomend West End and New Farm and if you want Bric-a-Brac try garage sales
