Black Pearl Epicure

Black Pearl Epicure Cooking School offers demonstration and hands-on classes not only for adults but for children aged between 7-13 as well.

Your kids can choose from a variety of classes throughout the year, which will turn them into real little chefs before you know it!

Classes include:

James St Cooking School - Kids in the Kitchen

James St Cooking School is commencing “Kids in the Kitchen” cooking classes for kids and parents during the September school holidays.

The one and a half hour classes, for 6- to 9-year-olds and 10- to 13-year-olds, will include instruction plus hands-on practice under the watchful instruction of experienced chefs. And of course each child will get to eat their yummy creations afterwards!

Classes will be held during the daytime during the school holidays and will then run during term time every other Sunday. There will be a range of cooking classes to select from including Italian, Asian, Party Food and Christmas.

Parents or an adult guardian must stay and do the class with their children. 

Cooking's Cool

Cooking's Cool is a family-owned business located in Everton Park, operated by Diane, an experienced executive chef who has turned her talents into a home business.

Diane offers children's cooking parties throughout the year, as well as school holiday cooking classes.

Your kids get to take home all of the recipes that they have mastered, which always include a main course dish and a sweet treat.

Diane's September school holiday classes are almost sold out but get in early and book your child in for a lesson over the Christmas break when Diane will be holding gingerbread house classes, amongst others.

Grass Tree Kitchen

Grass Tree Kitchen in Deagon welcomes children over 10 years to its cooking classes, however they must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Each class runs for about three hours with an experienced chef and students are given a recipe booklet to take home.

Classes include One Pot Wonders, Cupcake Decorating, Pizza & Sides, Desserts, Italian Pasta and Mexican.

Powerhouse - Kids in the Kitchen

Part of the Powerkidz school holiday program at the Brisbane Powerhouse, 'Kids in the Kitchen' teaches kids about food preparation, cooking and, of course, taste testing.

The workshops are held at Bar Alto and are run by professional chefs.

They were extremely popular during Powerkidz 2010 so look out for them at Powerkidz 2011.

Hilton Brisbane

Hilton Brisbane has run the My Little Hilton children's cooking classes during previous school holiday periods.

Classes are designed for children aged between 5 and 10 and 11 and 15 years.

All participants on the day receive a special lunch in the Atrium Restaurant and take home their culinary delights, a recipe book and Chef’s hat and apron.

Hilton Brisbane will not be holding the My Little Hilton classes during the 2010 September school holidays but they will be bringing them back during the Christmas break so keep an eye out for them!

Gold Coast

Fuller Tummy

This cooking school is quite unique because it comes and teaches you and your children in your own home!

Fuller Tummy has developed programs that allow adults and kids to not only learn how to cook healthy, restaurant quality meals, but also to learn valuable safety and hygiene tips, as well as preparation and cooking skills.

Your child or children can be taught on their own or you can join in on the class as well. The owners are very flexible and can adapt the lesson to accommodate your wishes.

Tamborine Cooking School

Nestled in the Gold Coast Hinterland Tamborine Cooking School is run by chef Terri Taylor who teaches students how to cook great meals with local and fresh products, including those picked from her organic garden.

Classes are normally run for adults however Terri will be running some children's Italian cooking classes during the school holidays, running from Wednesday 22 September until Wednesday 29 September.

The children will make pesto, napoli sauce, ravioli, polenta, tomato salad, and tiramisu for dessert. They will take away the menus and recipes, and a head full of ideas! The cost is $50 and the lessons will run from about 10am until 2pm.

Sunshine Coast

How to Cook

How to Cook Kitchen & Food Emporium is located in Cotton Tree, in the heart of the Sunshine Coast. The emporium has a kitchen shop, gourmet pantry, café-deli and cooking school.

Iris Windsor, head chef and principal of How to Cook, runs children's cooking lessons and parties on application.

The school takes place in the store, with each class running for three hours.
