Welcome to Auchenflower

Street sign in Auchenflower

Auchenflower is one of those lovely small suburbs often overlooked as it's defined more by what it's close to than what it contains.

So close to the city that it's practically inner city, Auchenflower is on train and bus lines and a hop, skip and jump from parks, eateries and some of Brisbane's most popular attractions such as Mt Coot-tha with its famous lookout and Botanic Gardens.

Milton Road cuts through Auchenflower and the stretch of shops along the main road are all that some people ever see of the suburb. But, as we all know, the best places tend to be off the beaten track. Auchenflower has wide, leafy streets, houses clinging to steep hillsides with amazing views and some of the best shops and restaurants.

With precincts like “The Cat and Fiddle” (in Morley Street), which gained fame through Nick Earls' books, and the stretch of eateries along Haig Road, Auchenflower is a well kept secret, much loved by locals.
