Andy is a 6’4” Gateshead-born striker who is making a big name for himself in the Premier League and in January 2011 became Britain's most expensive player moving from Newcastle United to Liverpool.

He made eight Premier League appearances in his first two seasons and in the second of those picked up some Championship experience with Preston North End, scoring once in eleven games.

He also became Newcastle United’s youngest ever player in a European competition, featuring in a UEFA Cup tie against Palermo at the age of 17 years 300 days.

He progressed to score three goals in 14 Premier League games for the Magpies in 2008-09 and was handed his England Under-21 debut as a substitute for Lee Cattermole in the friendly against Holland in Groningen on 11 August 2009, having previously played seven times for the U19s.

He scored twice for the Under-21s in their Euro 2011 Qualifier with Macedonia at Coventry City and in November 2010, Carroll made his senior team debut at Wembley against France.

  • Andy is a true number 9, Strong, Athletic and more importantly always looking for the back of the net, if he keeps his head down he could be an england great in the same mould as Shearer and FerdinandBy Geordie Andy (6 months ago)
  • He is a tall player with excellent athletic jump and heading. He can also hold the ball but needs to improve his one-two touch combination passing for his link-up play and 1st touchBy Sean Michael (7 months ago)
