China's tennis star Li Na on Saturday became the first player from an Asian nation to win a Grand Slam singles title after defeating last year's champion Francesca Schiavone in the French Open final.
Li beat Schiavone 6-4, 7-6. "I was nervous but I didn't want to show to my opponent," Li said.
On Thursday Russian tennis star Maria Sharapova was defeated by Li at the French Open semifinals, again missing her shot at a career Grand Slam.
