BOOKED: Chris Walla - Aaron Stewart-Ahn, director

WallaChris Walla is set to singlehandedly destroy the myth of indie rockers as slackers: Not only is he the guitarist/producer for Death Cab For Cutie, he's also the proprietor of the Seattle recording studio Hall Of Justice and has produced albums for Tegan & Sara, Hot Hot Heat and The Decemberists, just to name a few. He's now about to take the spotlight for a little bit as he bows his forthcoming solo album Field Manual with this video for "Sing Again."

Director Aaron Stewart-Ahn previously collaborated on the DCFC video album Directions in addition to directing videos for The Album Leaf and The Decemberists.

NEW RELEASE: Pissed Jeans "Ice Cream"

Pissed Jeans Oh, you may scoff at the lactose intolerant and claim it's nothing more than a little flatulence, but just think for a moment about all the young boys and girls who associate nothing but pain with something delicious like ice cream. That is what this Pissed Jeans video is all about, approximating the bubbling punk rock fury with the gastrointestinal discomfort experienced by a woman who heeds the evil call of her local ice cream man and plunges into a Trainspottingesque bout of hallucinations and night sweats. Sure it's silly, but not nearly as silly as the outro which features a band portrait with a puppy. --> watch "I've Still Got You (Ice Cream)" (YouTube)

NEW RELEASE: Simple Plan "When I'm Gone"

Simple Plan I'm not one to shed a tear for any youngster cruising down Sunset in a Mercedes convertible, but the girl in this video has got it bad. She's in throes of a breakdown as she waits/hopes for a phone call from Simple Plan singer Pierre Bouvier. Hallucinations set in and she starts seeing Pierre everywhere she looks: The advertisements all have Pierre. The parking valet is Pierre. Even the blogger with purple hair is Pierre (Hilton). Pierre is everywhere, except for her cellphone's caller ID display. That sense of ubiquity is not so imaginary, however: The restyled and even poppier than before Canadian rockers seem to be covering all their bases as they set up the February release of their new self-titled album. Yesterday included promo stops on MTV's TRL and Fuse's The Sauce, while the aforementioned kowtow to Perez Hilton has also reaped the expected reward. --> watch "When I'm Gone"

NEW RELEASE: The Little Ones "Ordinary Song"

Little1s_ord1Little1s_ord2 This showstopper of a video from directing team Terri Timely is pretty gosh darn delightful. Essentially the music video equivalent of a Russian nesting doll, the walls and confines for each scene breaks away to reveal the next — similar in style and construct to Michel Gondry's Bjork video "Bachelorette," and the recent spate of AT&T commercials directed by Wes Anderson. The storyline following the progress of this "Ordinary Song" by The Little Ones from a recording session to the point where it seeps out into the populace and becomes the soundtrack of our lives. --> watch "Ordinary Song"
