Genk winger Kevin de Bruyne appears set to complete a €3.5m move to Stamford Bridge after being pursued by the Premier League giants for the past six months. It was not certain that the move would take place as Anderlecht have also been keen on singing the 19-year-old and had been negotiating a deal with Chelsea in which they would allow their striking prodigy Romelu Lukaku to move to London if the path was clear for them to sign de Bruyne.

For whatever reason, that arrangement has now been voided with Chelsea flexing their muscles and they seem intent on snaring both the promising young talents especially with Lukaku hinting recently that he had decided his future and it that it would be in the Premier League rather than La Liga or Serie A.

While the Blues may well purchase more glamorous players with names that are more widely known, there is a feeling that the they may have done something that they have not done in a while – picking up a bargain in the transfer market.
