Traffic forecast for June 3, 2011

All city parking rules are in effect today and tomorrow.

There will be a rally to protest FDNY budget cuts around noon Friday, resulting in delays in the Brooklyn Bridge/Park Row vicinity and a possible lane closure of Broadway between Barclay and Chambers Sts., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m

Expect slowdowns in midtown around Rockefeller Center Friday for the "Today" show's summer concert of New Kids on the Block and the Backstreet Boys at 8 a.m.

On Friday at 7 p.m., the Mets begin a three-game set with Atlanta at Citi Field which will conflict with beach traffic headed to Long Island on the Long Island Expressway. Friday's game will feature express 7 trains both pre- and postgame.

With beautiful weather expected this weekend, you can be sure that all major roads and crossings to the Jersey Shore, the Catskills, the Hamptons, the Rockaways, Jones Beach and more will fill up quickly, especially after 4 p.m. Friday.

Two lanes of the eastbound Long Island Expressway near Greenpoint Ave. will be closed from 11 p.m. on Friday to 8a.m. on Saturday.

One lane of the Henry Hudson Parkway southbound near the George Washington Bridge will be closed from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday and Friday.

On Saturday, Sixth Ave. from 42nd to 56th Sts. will be closed from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. for a street festival.

Third Ave. between 66th and 86th Sts. will be closed Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. for a street festival.

South St. between Gouverneur Lane and Montgomery St. will be closed Sunday from 9 a.m to 10 a.m.

The following streets will be closed Sunday from 11 a.m. for the Celebrate Israel Parade: 52nd, 53rd and 55th Sts. between Park and Sixth Aves.; 56th St. between Park and Seventh Aves., and Fifth Ave. between 52nd and 72nd Sts.

Third Ave. between 14th and 23rd Sts. will be closed Sunday from 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. for a street fair.

The following streets will be closed Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. for the Philippine Independence Day Parade: 38th, 37th and 36th Sts. between Park and Fifth Aves.; and Madison Ave. between 38th and 27th Sts.

In Brooklyn, Fifth Ave. between 65th and 85th Sts. will be closed Sunday for a street festival.

In Queens, the following street will be closed from noon to 2:30 p.m. Sunday for the Queens Lesbian and Gay Pride Parade: 37th Ave. between 89th and 75th Sts.
