Protocol Optimization Licensing Program
Microsoft has a variety of protocol licensing programs that permit licensees to create interoperable client and server products. However, in the case of WAN optimization controller devices, licensees may want to break interoperability to increase throughput between two points.
The Protocol Optimization Licensing Program (POLP) permits the modification of Microsoft standard protocol packets for such optimizations for the following protocol groups:
Windows Server and Windows clients
Microsoft Exchange Server
Microsoft Office SharePoint Server
2007 Microsoft Office system
Microsoft SQL Server 2008
