Titan Books Signs Up 10th Anniversary Halo Art book.

Titan Books have acquired exclusive worldwide rights to publish Halo: The Great Journey: The Art of Building Worlds. Charting the glorious decade that gave us HALO: COMBAT EVOLVED, HALO 2, HALO 3, HALO WARS, HALO 3: ODST, Halo: Legends and HALO: REACH, Halo: The Art of Building Worlds is a lavish and spectacular collection of groundbreaking art, published to celebrate the franchise’s 10th anniversary.

The Art of Building Worlds is the ultimate gallery of the Halo universe, with over 400 images including sketches, commentary, and concept art from all stages of development, including characters, weapons, and sweeping landscapes as envisioned by more than thirty of the amazing artists behind the first ten years of Halo including Isaac Hannaford, Shi Kai Wang, Frank Capezzuto and Jaime Jones. From the earliest concepts for The Pillar of Autumn and The Maw to the streets of New Mombasa, from Master Chief to Noble Six, here you’ll find unparalleled access to the artistic innovation of the Halo archive.

The award-winning Halo series of video games has sold more than 40 million copies and the franchise has generated over $2 billion to date. “Halo” games are bestsellers on both the original Xbox and Xbox 360 platforms. “Halo: Combat Evolved” and “Halo 2” were the top two selling games on Xbox, and “Halo 3” and “Halo: Reach” are two of the bestselling games on Xbox 360. More than 3.3 billion hours of “Halo” gameplay has been logged by players while connected to Xbox LIVE.

Senior Commissioning Editor Laura Price acquired the rights from Microsoft. She said, “Halo is phenomenal. A fantastic game that looks simply incredible. The artworks we’ve been working with are masterpieces and having the artists’ commentary has been a real coup. Breathtaking.”

To launch this gorgeous hardback book, Titan will be working closely with Microsoft and 343 Industries to promote the title.

Martin Robinson, who helped organize and present all the works in the book, is an award-winning journalist and Features Editor at Eurogamer. Previously Content Editor at the UK office of IGN.com, Martin has been a keen tourist of the Halo universe. Over the last decade he has slain the entire Covenant several times over and saved the universe on more than one occasion.
