Louis Smith and Daniel Keatings qualified for the gymnastics finals, as China again proved to be the ones to beat.
After losing out in Athens four years ago in the men's team, China have been unbeaten on the world stage ever since - and they led the field after the qualifying competition.
China were on 374.675 after qualifying to sit on top of the standings, ahead of defending Olympic champions Japan by 5.125 point, while Russia, South Korea, Germany, the United States, France and Romania will all take part in Tuesday's team final.
In the individual events, 19-year-old Britain Smith performed well on the pommel horse and made the final after registering the fifth best score in qualifying.
Keatings will take part in the all-round men's final after he just sneaked into the line-up by taking the 24th and last place in the field.
Yang strong
Two-time all-round world champion and big favourite this time around Yang Wei stood at the top of the individual standings after qualification to show he would be the man they all have to beat for the gold.
Yang scored 93.875 points to lead Germany's Fabian Hambuechen, who notched 92.425, while Korean Olympic silver medallist Kim Dae-eun was third with 92.400.
The USA team performed well to qualify in sixth after being robbed of star twin gymnasts Paul and Morgan Hamm just before the Olympics started.
22-year-old Sasha Artemev was a last-minute replacement for one of the injured twins, and only found out three days ago that he would be taking part in Beijing.
Shock
The son of former Soviet gymnast Vladimir Artemev took his opportunity though to reach the all-round final and pommel horse final as well as the team event.
"I didn't really have time to think about anything. (There was) less pressure," said Artemev
"I used to stress out a week in advance and now I just did my thing.
"Not to feel the kind of apparatus before you do gymnastics on it is kind of tough.
"But I've been doing these routines for a while now and I'm pretty confident in what I do."
