Matthew H. Mead was sworn in as Governor of Wyoming on January 3, 2011. In his 20-year legal career, Mead served as a prosecutor for Campbell County, an Assistant U.S. Attorney, and a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Wyoming. He was also a partner in a private firm in Cheyenne for about six years. From 2001 to 2007, Mead served as U.S. Attorney for Wyoming. After stepping down as U.S. Attorney in June 2007, he and Carol devoted themselves to their farming and ranching business in southeast Wyoming. Mead earned a bachelor’s degree from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, and a law degree from the University of Wyoming College of Law. He and his wife, Carol, have two children. |
