Dan Malloy was sworn in as governor of Connecticut on January 5, 2011.

From 1995 to 2009, Malloy served as mayor of Stamford, Connecticut, the longest tenure in the city’s history. Prior to that, he was the assistant district attorney, where he tried 23 felony cases and won convictions of 22 of them. He was also a partner in a Connecticut law firm and served on the Stamford Boards of Education Finance.

Malloy graduated magna cum laude from Boston College and earned his law degree from Boston College Law School. He and his wife, Cathy, have three sons, Dannel, Ben, and Sam.
