Sam Brownback was sworn in as governor of Kansas on January 10, 2010. Throughout his life, Brownback has worked as a radio broadcaster, attorney, teacher, administrator, congressman and senator. Brownback served in the U.S. Senate from 1996-2010, where he was a member of the Appropriations Committee and the Homeland Security Subcommittee and served as the top-ranking Republican in the Agriculture Appropriations Subcommittee. He also served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1994-1996, and was the youngest Kansas Secretary of Agriculture. He and his wife, Mary, have five children. |
