Paul LePage was sworn in as governor of Maine on January 5, 2011. The oldest son of eighteen children in an impoverished family, LePage left home at the age of eleven and lived on the streets for two years, making a living shining shoes. At age thirteen, he was jointly adopted by two families who provided for him and gave him opportunities to work and put himself through school. LePage served as the mayor of Waterville, Maine. He has been the general manager of Marden’s Surplus and Salvage, a well-known retail institution, since 1996. And, he is also the head of LePage and Kasevich, a private consulting group. LePage graduated from the Husson University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and earned an MBA from the University of Maine. |
