Peter Anthony: People have been laughing at Tiger Woods' expense for the past year or so, but now it seems even his rivals are joining in. Graeme McDowell was doubtless being mischievous when talking of having to suppress the chortles at a few of his playing partner's drives but the Ulsterman's admission was surely a reflection of the state of Woods's game.

Getting stuck behind dawdling golfers is one of the game's major frustrations and can often lead to heated arguments. We were involved in one at Royal Porthcawl last week – and my playing partner, John, and I were the ones accused of doing the dawdling.

Rory McIlroy was a relieved young man in Miami yesterday after a training mishap appeared to be having no lasting impact. The 21-year-old completed a first-round 68 at the WGC-Cadillac Championship after dropping a 22-kilogram dumbbell on his big right toe.
