Bakemonogatari Anime Promo Video Posted

The official Japanese website for Aniplex's anime adaptation of NisiOisin's Bakemonogatari light novels has revamped itself with a staff list and a one-minute streaming promotional video. (The video requires recent versions of Microsoft Windows and Internet Explorer software.) The short stories in NisiOisin's two volumes of Bakemonogatari deal with a high school boy named Koyomi Araragi and strange students he encounters. ("Bakemonogatari" is a wordplay on the Japanese term bakemono for supernatural creatures and the term monogatari for stories.) The series will premiere in Japan in July.

Akiyuki Shinbo (ef - a tale of melodies., Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, MoonPhase, Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei, The SoulTaker) will direct off scripts supervised by Fuyashi Tou (Zoku Sayonara Zetsubō Sensei). Akio Watanabe (Nurse Witch Komugi, The SoulTaker) is adapting VOfan's original character designs for the SHAFT animators. Tatsuya Oishi (opening animation director for Mahō Sensei Negima! ~Shiroki Tsubasa Ala Alba~, Maria Holic, Pani Poni Dash!) is the series director below Shinbo, while Satoru Kousaki (Kannagi: Crazy Shrine Maidens, Lucky Star, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) is composing the music.
