We'd like to make a public apology to one of our great BF composers, Daniel Brett, who, among other productions, has composed the music for this month's
Doctor Who: Short Trips Volume II, featuring William Russell, David Troughton, Katy Manning, Louise Jameson, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sophie Aldred and India Fisher.
As you may know, our exec producer,
Nick Briggs, created the music for
Short Trips Volume I. However, because of pressure of work, he was not available to work on
Volume II. At very short notice and expertly following a brief from Nick about the various styles of
Doctor Who incidental music, Daniel Brett came to the rescue and delivered eight, brilliant scores, one for each of the eight stories on Volume II. The trouble is, this last minute change meant that Daniel's credit was left off the CD booklet, and the music was erroneously credited to Nick instead.
'We're really sorry that Daniel didn't get the credit he deserved, so we wanted to make it very clear to everyone that he's responsible for the fantastic music on Volume II,' explains Nick Briggs. 'In fact, he's done such a brilliant job that we've asked him to do the music for the next two Short Trips volumes as well. And he will certainly get his credit for those!'
