Strategy video games typically fall into two categories—turn-based and real-time. Turn-based strategy games consist of a series of distinct moves, much like in a chess match, in which there are definite starts and stops with each move. Real-time strategy games (also known as RTS games) are games in which the action plays out on an ongoing basis as the player implements tactics and strategies for success.

Electronic Arts produces the Command & Conquer franchise, one of the most famous, bestselling, and critically-acclaimed strategy game franchises of all time. EA also produced BattleForge, an epic online strategy game developed by the company’s Phenomic Studio. BattleForge combines the pace of an RTS game with the customization of trading cards in an online environment where friends can play together.
