Only one week away from the start of the IEM 5 World Championships, the ESL have finally announced the four Asia region invited players, all of which are currently competing in the GSL in South Korea.

Team Evil Geniuses' Greg "IdrA" Fields will become the second North American player to compete in the tournament, alongside Kevin"qxc" Riley. The two have been drawn in the same group. Fields just recently announced his withdrawal from the GSL's Code S with plans to move back to the United States to focus on foreign tournaments. He is to leave Korea on March 11th.

The second and third invited players are StarTale teammates Park Hyun 'Squirtle' Woo and Jung Woo 'Ace' Seo, both of whom helped their team to a second place finish in the GSL's debut of their highly entertaining Team League. Both players are now competing in the GSL March Code A tournament. Ace will face CoCa in the first round, while Squirtle (also known as GgoBoogie) has SuperNova to go through.

The fourth player is one of the most well-known South Korean pro gamers ever. Jang Jae 'Moon' Ho, the man who made his mark in e-sports history with his impeccable WarCraft 3 career, has made his transition into StarCraft 2 and now competes in the GSL Code A.  Moon will play in Group B, together with Squirtle.
