The new promoters of the Edmonton Indy are so determined to reverse the financial fortunes of the money-losing race, they’re going to have the cars zooming around the City Centre Airport track counter-clockwise, in the bargain.
Edmonton's new Indy promoters have 171 days to sell their
product to a market that believed the open wheel auto race had died
and wasn't officially notified of its miraculous reincarnation until
well after the Christmas ticket-buying season.
The money-losing Edmonton Indy motored out of city council’s hands Wednesday when it approved a $3.3-million payment to cover the final deficit and other costs.
