First things first. In my last column, I gave a shout-out to Paradise Pet Centre in St. Albert, which recently partnered with the Edmonton Humane Society to help deal with the overpopulation of pets. The store has stopped selling dogs and puppies, and cats and kittens, hoping that potential pet owners will adopt from the EHS shelter or a rescue group instead of buying from a pet store or through online advertising. The store is now adopting out homeless animals after more than 30 years of selling pets from their store.
