B.C. saves millions in firefighting...

With a summer that was cool and wet over much of the province and forest fires few and far between, 2011 is turning out to be somewhat of a payback year for the British Columbia Forest Service. A slow forest fire season has left B.C. with plenty of crews to spare for other provinces, and after two years of exceeding its budget for wildfire suppression, the Wildfire Management Branch expects to earn money, some $24 million and counting, back.
