Sabathia ditches cereal

The phrase "pitchers and catchers report" means baseball season is just around the corner. The phrase "police report" means Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera is in mid-season form . On Wednesday, Cabrera was arrested in Florida on suspicion of driving under the influence. In 2009, police were called after Cabrera got into a fight with his wife after a night of drinking. Cabrera has said he doesn't have a drinking problem, but it sounds like he doesn't have a problem drinking, either . According to police, Cabrera was arrested Wednesday because he smelled of alcohol, had slurred speech and drank from a bottle of scotch in front of a deputy. He always was a free swigger . Added comedy writer Jerry Perisho: "The Tigers last season were .500, the same as Cabrera's blood alcohol level." New York Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia says he lost 25 pounds in the offseason by ending his practice of eating a box of Cap'n Crunch cereal every day. Three Cheerios for a pitcher who Kix a bad habit to clean up his Life, just so he can record a few more Special K's . If Sabathia has a relapse and needs a cereal fix during games, maybe he can get Cameron Diaz to feed him some Corn Pops . "The good news for Yankees fans is that CC Sabathia lost weight," Newsday's Ken Davidoff wrote the other day. "The bad news is that Joba Chamberlain appears to have found it." . Donald Trump has indicated he'd be interested in a buying a majority's hair in the New York Mets. What's that? A majority share? Oh . Trump would be a good owner for a baseball team. He already has his own batting helmet.
