Because the current CBA was set to expire Friday night, the owners and the players' union agreed to a seven-day extension that will allow labour negotiations to continue through next Friday. The NFL figured it needed that long to resuscitate Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis ... According to financial experts, nearly one-quarter of the players in the NFL live from paycheque to paycheque. Apparently, $10 million doesn't go that far anymore...
