We saw him at Alexanders in Chester a few weeks back. His ad-libbing and improvisation looks to be his forte. His banter with the crowd was a lot funnier than his material. Absolutely crucified a stag night table who heckled him! Very good Leo, March 2006 |
I saw this guy headline at the Custard Factory in Birmingham in front of a purely Asian/Black audience and soon as he walked on I thought he would struggle - but he tailored his act perfectly for the audience and was that educated in the Asian culture that it left us gobsmacked! This included obscure Bollywood references and speaking in Hindi !!! The best part for me was silencing a muslim heckler who was pissed in the front row - "You are pissed up mate ? Bloody hell you are really rebelling against Islam aren't you ? If you come back to my dressing room I have a bacon sandwich and a lottery ticket for you!" - Quality Quality Quality. Naeem from Coventry, December 2005 |
I saw him and Dan Smith do a show at Leicester comedy festival where they just sat down on stools and did an hour of improvised stuff, chatting to the audience and bantering. A slight rip-off of Baddiel and Skinner but they really pulled it off, talking about their lives, current affairs and the decline of pop music. Not many acts could get away with such sick humour - these guys did Turk, February 2005 |
The crowd loved his self deprecating style and the neat trick with the phone numbers Damian Hutchinson, May 2004 |
Fantastically funny and a very nice bloke to boot. Good material, good rapport with the audience and he knows every phone code in UK, what more could you want? Go and see him. Great stuff. Mark, August 2003 |
Boundless energy, great likeability and top banter with the audience, he really put the audience at ease and warmed them up for the evening ahead. Rookie comedians - watch and learn Rob, June 2003 |
Ryan headlined in Nottingham last week and was on fire. First night of a new club and he really made the night for me. Confident, funny and definately one of the good guys. Book him. Chris Brooker, May 2003 |
Ryan is a true gent and was nothing short of brilliant at my gig last week. Having driven down from Brum to play a packed room with a less than desirable audience and poor PA, he's an asset to comedy. Not only was his material all spot on, but his off-stage nature leaves you wondering why there aren't more 'thoroughly good eggs' about like him. Adsy, April 2003 |
