You could call Chauncy Glover, the newest member of the Action News Team, a real Southern Gentleman. He was born and raised in Alabama and he's worked in Georgia and now Florida. Here's a fun-fact about this 2-year reporter, Chauncy was bitten by the News Bug quite early. In fact, his father built him his very own "anchor news desk" at the age of 6! That's where Chauncy "anchored" his news shows every Sunday evening after church for his family and friends. It may have been all fun and games for Chauncy's "viewers" at the time, but he was serious about television news. He later turned his hobby into a career. He went on to study Broadcast Journalism and Theatre at Troy University. He also has a degree in Public Relations.

Chauncy came to us in December of 2009 from WTVM News Leader-9 in Columbus, Georgia. He's reported on several big national stories, including the murder of Auburn freshman Lauren Burk and the accidental deportation of a mentally challenged American citizen. Chauncy has won several awards for his work, including Associate Press recognition for a story that exposed several pharmacies in Columbus, caught violating HIPPA laws by haphazardly disposing patients’ private medical records.

In his free time, you'll find Chauncy singing with or directing the church choir, or maybe even acting on stage. He's traveled the world in productions, like "A Raisin In The Sun," "The Piano Lesson, "The Scottsboro Boys," and the "The Vegas Show," along with several others. He even performed for the famous American Idol Judges on season 4, for a ticket to Hollywood. But his proudest moment was being asked to honor the late civil rights activist Rosa Parks, by singing at her funeral in Montgomery, Alabama.

Chauncy serves in the National Association of Black Journalist. He's a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc and is apart of Big Brothers Big Sisters, Abstinence In Motion, and The National Reading Alliance.

Chauncy is a baseball fanatic. He loves to eat, work out, eat some more, and watch Troy Trojan football.

Being new to Jacksonville, Chauncy welcomes your emails for tips on great places to visit and of course great places to eat.

In the meantime, he's working on the next big story, so stay tuned!
