Date: Tuesday April 24, 2007 Subject: Holy Fucking Chicago!!!!!! Amazing!!!!!!!!!!! I already have a soft spot in my heart for this beautiful city on the lake full of history, architecture, great food & drink, and some of the best bands in the history of music, ever, period (Naked Rayun, Screeching Weasel, and Los Crudos, to name just a few). This show, however, was beyond my wildest expectations. The club, Subterranean, is a perfect place to play and/or watch a show. By the time we were done soundchecking, I was already pretty damn excited. my friend Don, a Philly ex-pat, was waiting for us and we went to the Handlebar for dinner and beers. When we got back to the club it was packed and Four Star Alarm was already playing. Jeff Pezzati was there, but I was too nervous to talk to him. I’m a loser and a cowardly one at that. By the time we went on, it seemed like everyone in the room was totally stoked, ourselves included. It was one of the funnest (is that even a word?) shows I can remember in chicago, despite some minor drama with the cl ub’s security. The Metro was rad last July, but we really enjoy playing smaller, more intimate, spaces. Anyway, thanks to the windy city for the good times, you bastards owned the dancefloor. Thanks to Dave Ruin for the beer, thanks to Jeff D., congrats to Shariq, and of course, all praises due to Naked Raygun for the Rat Patrol!
