Train not stoked by Blunt imitation

FANS of US rockers Train shouldn't expect to hear a follow-up to the band's smash hit Hey, Soul Sister - they believe an imposter has already beaten them to it.

"Anyone who said we need a Hey, Soul Sister part two doesn't know what we need," the band's drummer Jimmy Stafford told Confidential.

"James Blunt already came out with (it)," he said, referring to the English singer's new single Stay The Night, which some observers feel bears more than a passing resemblance to Train's tune.

Confidential isn't able to publish what Jimmy said next about Blunt - but it was far from complimentary.

Train hit the scene with their breakout hit Drops of Jupiter in 2001, and burst back on to the airwaves with Hey, Soul Sister in 2009.

Then, Sydney cancer patient Kristian Anderson used their track Marry Me to send a message of love to his wife.

"I remember seeing it on YouTube when there were 1000 views on it," the band's lead singer Pat Monahan told Confidential.

"I cried for a long time."

The band are touring the country with INXS before heading overseas.

They are also busily working on their next album while on the road.
