Kate Middleton has been invited to voice a cartoon character as part of the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad.

If Miss Middleton finds some spare time on her hands after the Royal Wedding on April 29, she might be tempted to take up an offer to be part of this country's greatest sporting event.

Officials from the Tate Movie Project, a nationwide 27 minute film composed and drawn entirely by 16,000 primary school aged children, one of the many cultural Olympiad highlights, have revealed they have put a call into Clarence House to see if there is any interest.

The children have compiled a short list of celebrities they want to voice their project and among the female names of the ilk of Miley Cyrus and Danni Minogue, is Kate Middleton.

Project organiser Jane Burton said so far around 10 celebrities had been approached to provide voice overs for various characters in the movie and so far everyone has accepted.

''It will be quite a red carpet at Leicester Square,'' Burton said.

''But I think Kate Middleton might be a little bit busy at the moment.''

The project has been funded from £3million from Legacy Trust UK and additional sponsorship from BP.
