We’re in the process of migrating to a different Internet connectivity provider. We believe you should see improvements across the board, especially if speeds were less than great for you in the past. You may not see a speed improvement right away, but we’ll be making adjustments in the next few days that should make a difference.
As we also increased our bandwidth capacity we’ve upped the daily download limit for Max users from 4 to 8 Gigabytes and will be looking into increasing allowed download speed for free users. Upload speeds remain uncapped for all.
While the impact of this change should not be noticeable to most of the users, if you or anyone you know is having trouble reaching our site, have them try to restart their browsers to force a refresh of their DNS caches.

You can now log in to your sendspace account using an OpenID.
OpenID lets you log in to different sites without having to create a new username and password for each one.
OpenID is increasingly gaining adoption among large sites, with organizations like Yahoo (Yahoo users will shortly be able to use their Yahoo id’s as OpenIDs) and Orange (Orange offers OpenIDs to their 40 million broadband subscribers) acting as a provider.
In addition, integrated OpenID support has been made a high priority in Firefox 3 and OpenID can be used with Windows CardSpace.
Today it is estimated that there are over 160-million OpenID enabled URIs with nearly ten-thousand sites supporting OpenID logins. Yahoo!’s involvement will triple the number of OpenID accounts to 368m! For a partial list of OpenID enabled sites, go to https://www.myopenid.com/directory
You can link your account to your OpenID when you register, or add it in ‘Preferences’, in Mysendspace, at any time.

We’re happy to announce that developers can now embed sendspace services into applications, programs, websites, or scripts, regardless of platform, following the public release of our Application Programming Interface (API) beta.
We have purposely designed the sendspace API to be easy to implement and as versatile as possible.
To use the sendspace API (beta), follow the detailed instructions and examples found in our developer guides. We have even prepared working examples in both PHP and C++!

You can see your files and folders online with the Wizard, edit the file names, delete files, and recover download links. You can also create new folders, rename folders and organize your files, upload and send links by email. If you haven’t already downloaded a copy of the Wizard, you can get it here.
Now ALL registered users can create and share online folders of files. Give out a single folder link and all the files in that folder become available to the recipient!
Even better, you can change the contents of the folder at any time without having to send out more links. New files are made available for downloading by anyone you have given the folder link to. We even include an RSS feed so that the folders can be monitored using an RSS reader.
You can also organize all your uploads into different folders. Folders are normally private but you are able to share them by changing the folder settings.
Multiple folders were already available to premium users, but now everyone can use them!
Well, almost. We have noticed some amazing download speeds by some of our users. One user in the United States managed to pull a 90MB file in just 3 seconds! The download speed was a spectacular 30 megabytes/sec.
A lot of us will be turning bright green with envy and wishing we had a connection like that. We also have users in Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong who can download at speeds ranging between 10 and 18 MB/sec!
We know that Internet ‘traffic jams’ outside of our control can and sometimes do slow things down, but it just goes to show: If the conditions are right, anyone can download from sendspace at Formula One speed.
Our boss got an iPhone, loved it, and right-away got us working on an app. to upload media stuff and send the download links to his friends. So, to keep him happy, and everyone else with an iPhone, we made iShare.
Put iShare on your iPhone and you can upload to your free sendspace account and share links in the usual way. Cool, right? Almost. Once we noticed that Safari was fussy about what files it would let you download we just had to add downloads to our app. too. So we did! After a file has been uploaded to sendspace by anyone who passes on the download link, iPhone users can download the file.
And so a killer iPhone app. was born. We love iShare, and so will you. It’s so easy to use!

We have made a few changes to our website to increase site security. We would like to thank Nguyen Khac Trung, aka NKTPRO, (www.singhost.net) for his enthusiastic help in identifying and immediately reporting to us some flaws that needed fixing. We searched for any similar issues and luckily found none.
Although the flaws posed a low risk to some individual users, and would not have affected our system itself, we squashed the poor bugs right away. Nobody else had found or used these bugs before and our site is now more secure than ever, due to his efforts and responsible reporting.

sendspace Wizard is a free, multi platform desktop tool that lets you upload and download multiple files using your sendspace account!
sendspace premium users can easily upload and download multiple files between their computer and sendspace account. Free users can upload to their account.
Files can be selected for transfer, or you can use drag and drop. Your transfers will then be added to a transfer list. You can set the Wizard to start queued files automatically and begin the next file as each transfer is completed. Max members can even have simultaneous uploads and downloads as well as reach maximum downloads rates with the built in accelerator!
If you have a connection timeout, don’t worry! The Wizard supports upload and download resume. You may never have to restart a transfer again!
