Information on 4th DMP General Assembly (GA04)

Announcement

The 4th General Assembly (GA04) of the Digital Media Project will be held on 2004/10/27-29 at

The meeting will follow the Workshop on "Analogue legacies in the digital space" to be held on 2004/10/25 and the Ad hoc Meeting on "Evaluation of responses to PAV CfP" both at the same venue. No meeting fee will be assessed on GA04 participants.

If you intend to attend the DMP events please note the following

• Communicate your intention to attend a DMP event to the DMP Secretariat (secretariat@dmpf.org) by 10th of October
• Attendance at the Analogue Legacies Workshop is open to interested people
• Attendance at the Ad hoc meeting and the DMP General Assembly is reserved to
  • DMP members
  • Those responding to the the PAV Call for Proposals
  • Those wishing to join DMP in 2005
  • Exceptionally non members with the agreement of the DMP Board of Directors.

Objectives

The principal objectives of the meeting are:

1. Produce the 1st Working Draft of the Portable Audio and Video Devices (PAV) specification using the responses to the PAV CfP
2. Publish the Call for Proposals on Interoperable DRM Platform (IDP) and Interoperable End-user Devices (IED)
3. Publish the Call for Contributions on “Mapping of Traditional Rights and Usages (TRU) to the digital space”
4. Kick off the work on Recommended Action on Phasing out Analogue Legacies (PAL)

Travel information

Barcelona is connected via air to most cities in Europe. Direct flights are also available to some intercontinental destinations such as New York.
