Small Successes vol. 93

It’s important for moms to recognize that all the small successes in our days can add up to one big triumph. So on Thursday of each week, we do exactly that.

To participate, just write up a list of 3 of your recent Small Successes and post it on your blog along with the Small Successes button (go here to get the code). You are not required to use the button, but please do link back to the main post here. Then you can add your blog here using the Mr. Linky form (please link to the individual blog post, not the home page of your blog).

If you don’t have a blog, you can share your Small Successes in the comments.

To get us started, here are my small successes for this week:

1. I have been plugging away with Christmas shopping, getting little bits done here and there (and a lot online). I have a great big plan to get all my wrapping done well in advance this year instead of waiting till the last minute as I usually do. I’ll let you know how that works out ...

2. I have been keeping up with my P90X work outs. It’s pretty intense, but I must admit that I am really enjoying this program. If enough people are interested, I might write a separate blog post to share more thoughts about it.

3. I picked up a super-cute Nordicware Christmas baking pan for just a few dollars at a consignment shop. It’s in new condition and I am looking forward to trying out my first recipe in it (maybe for St. Nicholas Day?).

Now it’s your turn ... Please share all the ways you were awesome this week!

YAY for you!
(Hope you’ll keep our affiliate links and store in mind for your online shopping!)
You are on to wrapping and I haven’t even created a list yet!

Oh, boy. I have to get to cracking on this shopping bit. Every year, I say I am going to be done by Thanksgiving .... hasn’t worked yet.

Nordic ware .... isn’t that sold by Williams Sonoma? Don’t you LOOOVE consignment shops?

Not going to list anything elsewhere today, but here’s my brag for this week:

Successfully teaching myself how to knit! Started on Saturday and am well on my way now! Trying not to get too far ahead of myself with the possibilities, but I’m just happy about this b/c so many people thought I was crazy for wanting to learn! Most made it sound like a daunting task that I would never accomplish.

I’m so with you right now!!  Though I’ve been teaching myself to crochet over the last couple of weeks.  I’m wondering if I should try to learn knitting instead…  Youtube teaching videos are great.  So far I’ve only crocheted a few squares - I can’t wait to figure out how to actually make something really neat!  Good luck to you!!

I vacuumed the *entire* upstairs, defrosted something for dinner and cleaned up after breakfast (before noon!).

Danielle~  I would love to hear more about your experience with the workout program.  I am in the midst of getting back on that wagon again and love hearing about what actually works for real people.  Congratulations on your success of keeping at it!!

Yes, do tell us more, Danielle!  Maybe I’ll find some sort of inspiration…

Okay, here goes, while sick last month I ‘fast forwarded’ (as my husband says) my knitting skills and taught myself how to cable, lace, and bobble wink I’ve already finished a lacy scarf for a friend and a funky bobble hat for my son. This week, I taught myself how to crochet (finally!, at 40) and am finishing up crocheting the second mitten (with thumb!) for my little son. Thanks and God Bless!

Aren’t consignment shops the best?

Having trouble with Mr. Linky. Not sure what I am doing wrong.  Anyway, it’s been a tough week but I got through it.  Tomorrow is Friday! Yeh!

Danielle, I would very much like to hear about the workout program. Best wishes for continued success!
