St Kilda defender Sam Gilbert has publically apologised to his three team-mates involved in the nude photo scandal.

Saints skipper Nick Riewoldt confronted the media to address the incident, caused by a teenage girl who posted the images on Facebook.

The Saints on Tuesday evening released a statement on behalf of Gilbert, which mirrored Riewoldt's claims he had never met the woman at the centre of the scandal.

The 24-year-old also apologised to Nick Dal Santo and Zac Dawson, after that pair also had photographs of them posted on the internet on Monday.

"Nick Riewoldt has never met or does not know the person in question in respect to the posting of his photograph on Facebook yesterday," Gilbert's statement read.

"I confirm emphatically that the photo was taken by myself and taken in Nick's hotel room in Miami while on holidays over 12 months ago.

"I can also confirm that the pictures that were posted on Facebook were taken from my computer and that is currently subject to discussion with the Victoria Police.

"I would also like to take this opportunity to offer my public apologies to Nick Riewoldt, Nick Dal Santo, Zac Dawson and their families as well as the St Kilda Football Club for the distress this may have caused.

"In this particular case there has been a significant breach of privacy without my knowledge or consent. I have through this process learnt a very real and harsh lesson of the risks involved by taking photos of this nature, irrespective of where the photos are kept."

So Gilbert is sorry and oh by strange circumstances the photo's were stolen from his computer...yep sure Gilbert...tell the truth and be set free..St Kilda need to expose the truth before more is exposed..and as for a Police matter that is laughable. This girl has been ridculed and she is fighting back in the only way she knows the truth...

Is it just me or is there something wrong with this whole story!! Who cares who took the picture, who cares whos in it, from my understanding it was just a nude photo and nothing more, no dogs, cats or sexual acts. Whats all the fuss about, which makes me wonder what is really going on, surely these photos are not the issue

When all this is over I hope this girl thinks it was all worth it and in future may think twice about wanting to prostitute herself to drunk footy players. What do you expect you silly little girl. Go Pies!

Because this "girl" is 17 therefore society seems to have this "oh she's innocent and is not accountable for her actions". Wake up people. She knew what she was doing the first time she made the complaint.
