Dhaka, Dec 23 (bdnews24.com) – A sedition case has been filed against detained BNP MP Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury in his parliamentary constituency Fatikchhari, Chittagong.

Fatikchhari police chief Mohammad Mofizuddin filed the case with his station on Tuesday night for making derogatory comments on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's murder a year back.

The police officer told bdnews24.com on Thursday, "The case has been listed after the home ministry's approval order was got."

The maverick political leader was arrested on Dec 16 in connection with an arson attack on a private car that caused the death of a commuter on June 26, a day before a BNP-sponsored shutdown.

Later, the standing committee member was on Dec 19 shown arrested in a war crimes case.
