I've been organizing my own spring park shoots in the Tahoe area for the past four years. This spring, I worked with Chris Castaneda and the SPT/Northstar crew to get this sick double line ready for a private shoot. I called up Jeremy Thompson to come shred with me because I knew he would throw down and bring along his good energy.

Free Goods Friday: Ride part 2

By: Snowboarder Magazine

Ahhh the magical sensation of finding transition. In the time between leaving the ground and the apex of your flight path, speed and pop depending, your destination is unconfirmed. Then that moment, that wonderful moment, when time is halted by the realization that you won't be coming up short, you won't be over shooting, you'll be making transition. In snowboarding, this is as good as it gets, trumped only by making transition in untouched pow. Throughout Ride team rider Mikey Leblanc's career he's boycotted this euphoria as much as possible. He prefers to land his snowboard in places that don't have transition, most of the places he lands couldn't even be called landings. If you said "Hey Mikey, did you make the landing?" he would have no idea what you were talking about.

Watch Mikey's nutty ollie to flat HERE and answer the question for a chance to win.

Torstein Horgmo snow-blades better than you do

By: Heather Hendricks

Torstein Horgmo may have the bragging rights of being the first shredder to have a documented landing a of triple cork, but it looks like he's over the snowboard game and has picked up the sport of snow-blading instead.

On his first day of the season, Horgmo strapped on a pair of hard boots and hit the hill with brand new pair of short skis. He got steezy at Keystone's park proving his future may be in competitive blading.

Please note: Ski-blading/snow-blading is only perceived as cool when you're a mega-pro like Horgmo. So don't go renting these things.

The Cool Kids will headline concert at Winter Dew Tour's Nike 6.0 Open

By: Lindsay Fraka

GrindTV Newswire, Via Alli Sports: Burr Ridge, Ill. - Dec. 3, 2010 - Midwest hip hop group, The Cool Kids, will perform live during the Winter Dew Tour's Nike 6.0 Open at the Riverwalk Center in Breckenridge, Colo. on Friday, December 17th with tickets starting at just $20. Opening act, The Knocks, will kick off the two-hour concert at 7pm. The live show is part of the Winter Dew Tour's season-opening event which features competitions with the best snowboard and freeski athletes in both slopestyle and superpipe disciplines. The four-day event takes place December 16-19, 2010 at Breckenridge Ski Resort.

The Cool Kids have proved to be both an internet and live show phenomenon. The duo of Mikey Rocks and Chuck Inglish met in mid-2005 after Mikey came across some of Chuck's beats online and liked what he heard. Upon meeting in their Chicago-area homes, the duo began releasing material on their MySpace page and on MP3 blogs. In 2007, The Cool Kids began to receive press attention in the local Chicago scene and were invited to play at Pitchfork, one of the city's major summer music festivals. This led to a spot at New York's CMJ Music Marathon and an opening spot on M.I.A.'s solo tour. That same year The Cool Kids signed to Chocolate Industries and released their debut EP, The Bake Sale, in January of 2008. The group released its first album, When Fish Ride Bicycles, in 2009.

Concert openers, The Knocks, are based out of the Lower East Side of Manhattan and have emerged as a force to be reckoned with in the world of music production. Consisting of Ben "DJ B-Roc" Ruttner and James "JPratt" Patterson, The Knocks are named in reference to the early days of their production career when complaining neighbors would knock on the walls and ceilings while they worked out of their home studios. The duo later upgraded to Heavy Roc Music studio in Chinatown, where they are making names for themselves by finding and developing talent as well as remixing major artists.

Tickets start at $20 and are available at the Riverwalk Center Box Office. Five dollars of every ticket purchased will be donated to SOS Outreach, a Vail Valley-based nonprofit organization that builds character and self-esteem in youth though outdoor activities and the SOS curriculum. More information can be found at sosoutreach.org. For additional concert and Winter Dew Tour event information, visit allisports.com.
