Brescia fires coach Giuseppe Iachini
BRESCIA, Italy (AP)—Brescia has fired coach Giuseppe Iachini, two days after a 3-0 loss to Serie A leader AC Milan, and hired Mario Beretta as his replacement.
The defeat left newly promoted Brescia in the relegation zone and in danger of an immediate return to Serie B.
Brescia has won just three of 15 matches and is tied with Cesena and Lecce on 12 points, one spot above last-place Bari.
Beretta, who previously led Siena and Lecce in the top division, signed a contract through to the end of the season.
Brescia is due to face Sampdoria on Sunday if Serie A players don’t strike.
