Tailback Chad Spann had three touchdowns rushing and quarterback Chandler Harnish threw a touchdown pass and ran for another and Northern Illinois pounded Toledo 65-30 on Tuesday. By Wednesday morning, we might just know how the West was won.
The Huskies have what will be a colossal showdown with Toledo at Huskie Stadium on Tuesday night.
The Huskies had extra time to prepare for the game but would have preferred not to take time off at all after winning six games in a row to push their record to 7-2 overall and 5-0 in the Mid-American Conference West Division.
The Rockets are 6-3, 5-0.
The Huskies might have a slight advantage with the game in DeKalb, Ill., and the Rockets forced to use their backup quarterback. Toledo starting quarterback Austin Dantin was injured in last week's 42-7 rout of Eastern Michigan.
Redshirt freshman Terrance Owens is slated to make his first career start against the Huskies. ...More |
