Three Men and a Hoover
Live Review

Three Men and a Hoover rated 3/5

A line-up of newer acts, all of whom perform well, winning over the audience. Paul Sweeney is intriguing and memorable, not just because of his Freddie Mercury moustache, but also for his floppy haircut, which obscures half his face. His material is gentle and well-delivered and he makes you feel as if you are listening to an entertaining mate rather than a stand-up comedian.

Middle act Dan Lees keeps the warm comedy vibes going, but is it Steve Aruni and his singing Henry Hoover, who is the stand-out.

Dressed like a mad scientist in a white lab coat, he has programmed his vaccuum to sing, dance and even play the saxophone. Probably not the sort of thing you'd want to spend an hour watching but for sheer Fringe silliness, you can't beat this sort of nonsense. Even the unforgettable song Stick Your Finger Up My Arse is delivered with such charm by a domestic household appliance that you can easily forgive the content.
