About Malmö University
Malmö University is the one of the largest universities in Sweden with about 25,000 students. Malmö University is organized into five areas of study: Health and Society (HS), Culture and Society (CS), School of Education (LUT), Faculty of Odontology (DO) and School of Technology (CTS).
School of Technology
The School of Technology consists of two departments and several technology-related subjects. Many of the subjects are components in multidisciplinary programmes with the aim of integrating technological, scientific and social science perspectives. The School of Technology has approximately 2,500 students and 80 employees.
Department of Computer Science
About 1,500 students are enrolled in the department in seven bachelor’s and engineering programmes, a master's programme and several independent courses. Programmes are offered and research is conducted in fields such as systems development, information architecture, business systems, game development and digital media. The goal is for the department to work in close collaboration with industry and the public sector, including PhD programmes in the subject. The department is expanding and we are now looking for at least one senior lecturer or lecturer to help develop the computer science programme and research in game development.
Content and duties
Teaching is mainly linked to courses in the bachelor’s programme in game development and the master's programme in media software design, as well as a few independent courses. For example, teaching may focus on one or more of the following areas:
·        Game programming
·        Computer graphics
·        Game physics engines
·        Modelling and animation
·        Interaction and visualisation
The qualified candidate will have a solid background in computer science. The work entails independent duties and teaching teamwork. Duties will also include participating in the development of the department’s degree programmes.
The position of senior lecturer entails participation in development of a research programme and other activities in computer science.
Senior lecturer:

Qualifications
The successful candidate for the position of senior lecturer must possess:
·        a PhD degree, equivalent proficiency or other relevant skills of significance to the subject matter and duties associated with the position
·        pedagogical training at university level or equivalent skills acquired in some other way
·        documented pedagogical experience
Appointment as a senior lecturer at Malmö University also requires:
·        documented ability to work with the community and to provide information about activities within the area of responsibility
·        documented ability to develop, implement and lead those activities
·        good interpersonal skills
Selection criteria
Scientific and pedagogical skills will be given special priority. Equal weight is assigned to these areas of expertise during the selection process. Teaching experience in the development of game development is desirable, as is experience of research and development projects in this field.
Organisational skills, extensive experience communicating orally and in writing, and experience promoting education and research in various ways are meritorious.

·        pedagogical training at university level or equivalent skills acquired in some other way
·        documented pedagogical experience
Appointment as a lecturer at Malmö University also requires:
·        ability to develop, manage and implement teaching
·        ability to work with the community and to provide information about activities within the area of responsibility
·        good interpersonal skills
Selection criteria
Selection criteria for employment as lecturer include the degree of expertise and capability that constitute the qualification requirements for the post. Pedagogical skills will be given special priority. Teaching experience in the development of digital games is desirable, as is experience of industry-related development projects in this field. A master's degree in a subject relevant to the position is also desirable.
Organisational skills, good experience communicating orally and in writing, and experience promoting education and research in various ways are meritorious.
Other
This position starts as soon as possible. Malmö University applies a policy of individual salary negotiations and may apply a probationary period. The position is a full-time permanent position at the Department of Computer Science, School of Technology.
